Anti-racism and shared foundational knowledge for organizations doing the work.

I work with boards, nonprofits, public-sector organizations, and corporate clients to build the historical literacy and shared understanding that meaningful anti-racism work requires. My approach is grounded in research, Canadian history, and the practical realities of institutional change – not in frameworks borrowed from elsewhere or applied without context.

Most equity initiatives stall not because people are unwilling, but because organizations skip the foundational knowledge that would make the work hold. That’s where I come in.

My approach centres equity frameworks and and ethics of care, centering often ignored Black voices and creating safe spaces to share.

When you work with me, you also work with members of the community through community engagement, reviews, and training with a focus on responsible stewardship.

HOW I WORK WITH CLIENTS

Foundational learning sessions – workshops and learning series that build shared understanding of Black history in Canada, anti-racism, and the institutional contexts in which equity work takes place.

Strategic Advising –  confidential advising for executives, board chairs, and senior leaders navigating equity commitments, public accountability moments, or organizational change.

Board and governance consulting – multi-session partnerships built around your organization’s specific goals, audience, and timeline

SECTORS I'VE WORKED WITH

Many consultants come to anti-racism work from one direction – academic, activist, or corporate. I bring all three. I am a public historian and curator who works in archives and exhibitions. I’m an author whose books are taught in classrooms. And I have a governance and compliance background that means I understand how institutions actually function, what boards are accountable for, and where change has to be structural rather than performative.

That combination is rare, and it’s what makes the work durable.
